
Greg Crochet teaches post-secondary aquaculture in the evening. He has a B.S. in Agribusiness from the University of Southwest Louisiana and has studied education at the University of Southern Mississippi. He has more than 13 years of experience in aquaculture, including 21/2 years as an aquaculture researcher at Mississippi State University. His areas of expertise include crawfish culture, catfish culture, water quality, system design, and culture of freshwater and marine shrimp. He has been teaching aquaculture for 5 years, and was instrumental in designing both the building and the aquaculture curriculum at West Harrison Center. He has attended regional and national aquaculture conventions and workshops, and has given numerous presentations and seminars. He serves as a Deputy Commissioner for the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District and is a member of the World Aquaculture Society.
Michael Murphy teaches high school aquaculture during the day. He has B.S. and M.S degrees in aquaculture from Colorado State University, and has studied education at the University of Southern Mississippi. His 18 years of aquaculture experience include 11 years as an aquaculture researcher at Mississippi State University. During that time he worked extensively with catfish, hybrid striped bass, freshwater shrimp, and redfish. Other areas of expertise include: water quality, trout culture, bass culture and management, aquatic endangered species and pond management. He has been teaching aquaculture for 4 years, and served on the Commissioner of Agriculture's Aquaculture task force for 3 years. He has taught several short courses, attended national and regional aquaculture conferences, and is a member of the Fish Culture Section of American Fisheries Society.
