MISSION STATEMENT

        The mission of the Community College Network (CCN) at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is to provide: 

1. A means for extending college resources and providing quality educational programs and services from available resources within the state of Mississippi and outside its borders.

2. A distant learning capability that allows instant interaction among students, instructors, or other Mississippi  SBCJC and IHL college and university personnel in response to educational, training, or informational for our community.  

  LOCATIONS:  With an upgrade installed in October 2005, there is only one CCN location.  This is at the Jefferson Davis Campus

  USAGE: The present set up provides connectivity with other SBCJC and IHL locations throughout the state via Internet point-to-point connectivity.   The present structure allows for conferences, administrative meetings, and short presentations with locations throughout the state.  Even point-to-point connectivity from a desk with an Internet address can connect to the facility.  Instructional usage among the three campuses is not available until the other two campuses are upgraded.

 HOURS: The CCN facility is open during regular college operating hours which is generally from 7:30 A.M. until 8:30 P.M., Monday through Thursday. The room is also available on weekends through special requests.

REQUEST FOR USAGE: To use the CCN site, please contact the Director of Media Services at the Jefferson Davis Campus.  The Jefferson Davis Campus phone number is (228) 896-2525.

EQUIPMENT:    The Jefferson Davis Campus CCN site is equipped with:

• Two cameras
• Three television monitors
• Two voice microphones
• Overhead projector (Elmo)
• VCR
• Fax machine
• Telephone
• Internet access
• Desks and chairs for a maximum of 20 students.
