IN-STATE STUDENTS

Active Duty Military and Military Dependents:
Out-of-state fees are waived if active-duty military and/or dependents
of active-duty military submit to the campus records clerk before the
beginning of each term a certificate from his/her commanding officer,
which includes the information specified in "Certification or residency
of military personnel" under the "Residency Information"
section of the current catalog.
In addition to the above, foreign students are required
to pay a one time $100 admissions fee. Foreign students are not permitted
to be part-time students. Refer to residency information found in the
College Catalog Online under Expenses.

Full-time out-of-state residents and foreign
students must pay an additional fee of $923.00 each semester
at the time of registration that is non-refundable. Part-time
out-of-state resident students pay $142.00 per semester hour.
In addition to the above, foreign students are required to pay a one time
$100 admissions fee and a per semester $50 administrative fee. Foreign
students are not permitted to be part-time students. Refer to residency

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP
ACT Score 28 and above
Full tuition, book rental fees and room/board
(Residence halls are only available at the Perkinston Campus).
Awarded to full-time, first-time entering
freshmen (hours taken as a dually enrolled high school student do not
affect scholarship eligibility). To be eligible, a student must be a
legal resident of Mississippi and enrolled in a minimum of 15 semester
hours. Online/Internet courses are not counted toward the semester hour
requirement.
This scholarship is renewable up to four consecutive semesters, not
including summer. To remain eligible, students must maintain a 3.5 or
higher cumulative grade point average as a full-time student. Students
who drop below the 3.5 will be placed on scholarship probation for one
probationary semester to allow the student to regain the 3.5 cumulative
GPA. If the student does not bring the cumulative GPA up to 3.5 or above
the next semester, the student will no longer receive the scholarship.
Priority deadline is April 1.
DEANS SCHOLARSHIP
ACT Score 25-27
Full tuition
Awarded to full-time, first-time entering freshmen (hours taken as
a dually enrolled high school do not affect scholarship eligibility).
To be eligible, a student must be a legal resident of Mississippi and
enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours. Online/Internet courses
are not counted toward the semester hour requirement. This scholarship
is renewable up to four consecutive semesters, not including summer.
To remain eligible, students must maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative
grade point average as a full-time student. Students who drop below
the 3.0 will be placed on scholarship probation for one probationary
semester to allow the student to regain the 3.0 cumulative GPA. If the
student does not bring the cumulative GPA up to 3.0 or above the next
semester, the student will no longer receive the scholarship. Priority

INCENTIVE SCHOLARSHIP

or higher grade point average as a full-time student. Priority deadline
is April 1.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Full-tuition scholarships awarded
to full-time first-time entering freshmen career/technical students who
have a high school diploma and have completed a two-year career/technical
training program with an overall high school average of B or above at
a high school that has an articulated training agreement with MGCCC. A
half tuition career/technical scholarship is also available for students
with a “C” average in academic courses and an “A”
average in career/technical courses. The eligibility requirements to continue
to receive this scholarship are that a student must maintain a cumulative
grade point average of 2.5 or higher and to successfully complete a minimum
of 12 semester hours each fall and spring semester (an IP grade does not
count as successfully completing a course). These scholarships are renewable
for the length of the program for career programs. For career/technical
students, it is renewable for the length of the program which may include
summer enrollment for programs that require summer attendance as indicated
in the college catalog. For two-year programs that do not require summer
attendance, the scholarship is renewable for four consecutive fall/spring
semesters.

OFFICIAL
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
The official withdrawal period ends on the Friday of the 10th week of
the semester. Students who officially withdraw during this period will
receive the grade of "W". The withdrawal process is initiated
by the student at the campus Admissions Office.
TUITION AND
BOOK SERVICE REFUNDS
Tuition and Book Service fees are refundable as follows:
- 100% if the official withdrawal and request for
refund is received prior to the first day of the term.
- 90% during the first week of classes.
- 90% during the second week of classes.
- 0% thereafter.
CAREER STUDENTS TUITION POLICY
Career Students are charged by the college credit hour the same as academic
and technical students. For example, if a career student enrolls for 9
semester hours regardless of the date of enrollment, they pay $585 in
tuition. |
