| College Work Study
MGCCC offers both federal and institutional work-study programs. To
apply for either program, a student must complete the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must also complete a work-study application.
The priority deadline for the work-study program is June 1. This means
that those students who have complete financial aid files by this date
will receive first consideration for work-study awards.
Part-time jobs are available in most on-campus offices and departments
to allow students to earn money to help with educational expenses. The
benefits of work-study are:
- You gain work experience while attending college.
- You never have to repay a work-study award.
- You can arrange your work schedule around your classes.
- Your wage will be at least the current federal minimum wage and your
total earnings cannot exceed your work-study award. Students generally
work between 5-20 hours, depending on the job assignment, level of need
and the funds available to the school.
If you have been awarded work-study as part of your financial aid package,
you should contact the financial aid office for a job placement at the
beginning of the semester. The financial aid office will refer you to
student worker supervisors based on the type of work requested. Student
worker supervisors select students based on student skills, position requirements
and personal interview.
If you have any questions pertaining to the work-study program or wish
to be considered for participation, please contact the campus financial
aid office.
