MGCCC continues to climb in national Top 100 rankings
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community
College seems to get better
every year. Climbing 13 spots to No. 67 overall, Gulf Coast is once again ranked as one of the
country’s top 100 community colleges. This is the
fourth straight year the college has made the annual
national rankings in Community College Week, an educational
magazine.

Willis Lott accepts NAEOP award in ceremony
that moves many to tears
Sniffles heard throughout the room. Napkins wielded to wipe
the tears. A standing ovation fit for a hero. As they say,
if the shoe fits, wear it. Such was the case for Dr. Willis
Lott when he accepted the 2006 Administrator of the Year
Award from the National Association of Educational Office
Professionals in Addison, Texas, on July 19 at the Hotel
Intercontinental Dallas.

Stewart takes over as MGCCC vice president for Administration
These days,
it’s tough
to catch up with Dr. Billy Stewart. One day he may be getting
his affairs in order at his old job as dean of Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Simpson County Center. The next day Stewart could be trying
to look ahead to his new position as vice president for Administration
at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
