Late registration
drives spring enrollment
As the clock counted down on late registration,
the college’s enrollment numbers continued to climb
upward. The numbers show it took students several days to
shake off the holidays and gear up for the new semester. By
the end of the first week of classes, the college experienced
another record-setting spring registration- enrollment is
up 7.4 percent college-wide compared to the same time last
year.

Gulf
Coast teams with William Carey
Another way to earn a four-year degree on Coast
Gulf Coast students have a new way to earn a bachelor’s
degree at home on the Coast. MGCCC and William Carey College
signed an articulation agreement on Jan. 30 that insures a
smooth transfer of classes for five degrees - psychology,
art, nursing, business and education.

Automotive
program revs up with national certification
Finding a good car mechanic along the Coast just got easier
thanks to the automotive training program at the Jackson County
Campus. The program motored its way to national certification
from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence
(ASE).

gets makeover for the new year
It’s a new year, and that means a new look for the
college’s employee newsletter, In Touch. Starting this
month, the faster, smarter, hipper In Touch will become a
completely online newsletter. The publication will continue
to cover the events and people who make our college work,
