It’s official: Gulf Coast is
the largest community college in Mississippi for the second
year in a row, according to the state’s Board for Community
and Junior Colleges. The final numbers were released on Jan.
24 based on enrollment figures for the 2004 fall semester.

group takes concerns to the Capitol
Faculty from Mississippi’s community
colleges will be holding a mail call for legislators on Feb.
22 at the Capitol. They’ll be delivering sacks of letters
from faculty and students telling about the important role
community colleges fill in the state’s education system
while improving the quality of life for its citizens.
