board approves 2006 Budget
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community
College Board of Trustees approved a $55.2 million E&G
budget for fiscal year 2006 on May 18 hoping for level state
funding. After the Legislature’s special session ended
Memorial Day weekend, that wishful thinking was a reality.

is new site for alternative teacher certification
To combat the state’s secondary
teacher shortage, the Mississippi Community College Foundation
(MCCF) is offering a summer certification workshop to put
more teachers in the classroom. The Mississippi Alternate
Path to Quality Teachers Training Institute is designed for
those who hold a non-education degree, but desire to become
classroom instructors.
