Perk hosts
egg-cellent egg hunt
It took less then five minutes for more than 500 elementary students
to find 7,000 Easter eggs hidden on the Perkinston Campus.
The egg hunt was held April 8 and sponsored by Gulf Coast students
from Dr. Marie Heim's leadership development program. Perkinston
Elementary students, along with college employees’ children,
took part in the egg-cellent hunt on the lawn surrounding the campus’s
flagpole.
Gulf Coast students became plastic-egg experts after two days of
filling each egg with candy and treats. Parents, along with several
local businesses – Bank of Wiggins, Wiggins Wal-Mart, Fred’s
and Dollar General – were egg-cited to donate either time
or funds to make the egg hunt possible.
Each egg hunter was guaranteed to take at least seven eggs home
for decorations. This is the second year Heim’s class has
sponsored the egg hunt.
