A legacy of strong leadership and visionary thinking

Our college family was saddened by the Oct. 10, 2004, death of Dr. Julius John “J.J.” Hayden Jr., the 9th president of our institution. Dr. Hayden was a man of great vision, and we owe our present-day status as Mississippi’s largest community college to his creative thinking and influential leadership.

Key Ingredients gobbled up by JC visitors

A quick cut to a piece of outstretched ribbon officially opened the Smithsonian’s “Key Ingredients: America by Food” exhibit on Oct. 18 at the Jackson County Campus. The interactive display explores the connections between Americans and the foods we produce, prepare and put on the table.
