Associate Degree Nursing and Practical Nursing students at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College are preparing for their clinical experience at hospitals and agencies along the Coast…and they’ll be wearing new uniforms donated by a couple of generous companies from outside the state. One company, White Swan Uniform Company, located in Georgia, sent boxes of white scrubs to replace uniforms lost or destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. "It was a pleasant surprise when the company called me and asked about helping our students return to school," says Dr. Judith Benvenutti, college director for Health Occupations. "Some of our students lost their homes and clothes and were living in shelters but were so determined to return to college. White Swan’s generosity will have a big impact on many lives."
