hits 11,000 student benchmark
A little procrastination on the part of students and a lot
of hard work on the part of Gulf Coast employees pushed the
college over the 11,000 student benchmark at the end late
registration for the fall semester. On Aug. 27, enrollment
was up 375 students compared to the same time last year with
11,293 credit students registered.

Perk
receives $2.5 million for water system repairs
The first day of a class is always exciting, but a new $2.5
million grant made the start of the academic year even more
memorable at the Perkinston Campus. As a record number of
Gulf Coast students made their way to class on Aug. 23, college
officials were accepting a multimillion dollar grant from
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

and Knight Foundation offer the Dream of Prosperity
On a warm South Mississippi morning, sixteen women from varied
backgrounds, met each other for the first time at the college’s
Jefferson Davis Campus and discovered their common bonds.
They were all mothers or caregivers, who had lost the way
to their dreams just trying to navigate through life’s
challenges. Each had always desired to do more with their
talents, but lacked the economic freedom to break free from
their paths.
