CLEP Testing Site

CLEP is a national program of credit by examination that allows a person to obtain recognition for college-level achievement.  As of Fall 2000, MGCCC is an approved limited CLEP testing site.  As such, MGCCC will administer CLEP exams to students who are enrolled at MGCCC upon request.

CLEP offers two types of tests; general examinations and subject examinations.  General exams measure familiarity with material covered in courses taken during the first two years of college to meet general education requirements.  They include English composition, humanities, college mathematics, natural sciences and social sciences, and history. Subject exams measure knowledge usually acquired in specific college courses and are used to grant credit for these courses.

The CLEP exams that MGCCC accepts credit for are listed in the catalog along with the required testing scores.

CLEP examinations are given in the Title III Assessment Centers at Jackson County, Jefferson Davis, and Perkinston Campuses.  Please contact the Assessment Center to schedule a CLEP examination.
