Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Commitment to Lifelong Learning

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College provides opportunities to earn one- or two-year degrees in a number of fields, as well as lifelong learning enrichment. These opportunities promote intellectual stimulation, personal/professional growth, and cultural enrichment through a variety of non-credit seminars, workshops and short courses. Special courses are designed to improve academic skills; enhance business skills; gain assistance in changing careers; satisfy continuing professional education requirements for licensed professions; or to increase knowledge in a particular area. The goal is to meet the learning needs of the community in the four-county district. As part of its commitment to lifelong learning, continuing education courses and seminars are available evenings, weekends or daytime hours for the convenience of adults who may not choose to attend classes during more traditional time periods.

MGCCC's Continuing Education non-credit programming includes computer applications, heath occupations training, skills development training, arts and hobbies, and professional development. Training programs may be customized to meet the needs of businesses or public entities through our Workforce Development department.

Gulf Coast Youth Leadership Program

Recognizing the need to develop and support leadership of the youth of the Gulf Coast - the decision makers of tomorrow - Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in conjunction with the local chambers and high schools has designed a Youth Leadership Program. The Gulf Coast Youth Leadership Program was designed from the basic principles of the adult leadership programs operating in the coastal counties and at the state level. Developed as an ongoing program, Youth Leadership incorporates a value-based program of personal development, choices and responsibilities, with a sense of community, achieving results and accountability.
