MGCCC students place in top-ten at national competitions this summer

Skills USA

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College SkillsUSA members participated in the 45th Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference this summer in Kansas City, Mo. More than 5,000 outstanding career and technical education students, all state contest winners, participated in hands-on skill and leadership competitions. Gulf Coast students won 14 top-ten awards.

HOSA

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) members participated in the Annual Conference this summer in Nashville, TN. HOSA is a national student organization that promotes career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. Gulf Coast students won 11 top-ten awards and two secondary students received special recognition awards.

Phi Beta Lambda

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) members participated in the Annual Conference this summer in Anaheim, CA. PBL is the post-secondary equivalent to the secondary Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). FBLA-PBL is an education association with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. Gulf Coast students won six top-ten awards.
