MGCCC Shows Appreciation to Law Enforcement, First Responders and Active Duty Military

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is inviting all law enforcement, first responders, and active duty military with ID or in uniform to attend all home football games at no cost for general admission seating as a part of the college’s #InTheBlue campaign. The campaign, introduced in May, is focused not only on college sports teams, but also includes academic achievement, enrollment, program completion and graduation rates.

“Our #InTheBlue campaign is all about going the extra mile, pushing the needle forward and being excellent in all we do at the college, whether it’s our students, our employees or our partners,” said Dr. Mary S. Graham, president of MGCCC. “What would be more fitting than to honor those that go the extra mile every day to keep our communities and nation safe?”

MGCCC has a certified police force at all campuses and centers. The campus police force works closely with local law enforcement to identify potential problems and take a proactive approach to campus security.

“At MGCCC, we recognize that safety is vital to providing a rewarding academic experience for students,” Graham said. “The individuals in our police force – from each campus police chief to the radio operators – play an important part in our college success. We appreciate all that they do.”
