Naval Construction Battalion Center
If attending accelerated evening or weekend classes is what you prefer, join us at the Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) in Gulfport. The MGCCC office is in the Moreell Building (Building 60), which is conveniently located just inside the Broad Avenue Gate. MGCCC courses are offered to active duty, retired and reserve military personnel, military family members, Government employees and the general public.
Courses offered include ones that allow students to work toward their Associate of Arts degree.
The MGCCC office offers “one-stop” service to those interested in attending. Counseling and advisement services are available to assist students in the selection of classes. Students can apply, take any required pretests, register, pay fees and even pick up books in the on-base office. Students may also receive assistance in attending any of the other campuses or centers.
The MGCCC office also offers a Construction Management Technology Program which is designed to prepare technicians for employment within the construction industry. The curriculum leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Students completing the program will be prepared for jobs in supervision, estimating, layout, monitoring, safety, leadership and organization of construction projects.
Fall (two sessions) and spring (two sessions) classes meet two nights weekly and summer classes meet one night weekly. Weekend classes meet on Friday evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays during the day. Classes do not meet during Navy Field Exercises.
If you are planning on taking classes and do NOT have access to the Navy Base, you must contact Alrie' Poillion at 228.865.0675 or alrie.poillion@mgccc.edu. The clearance procedure usually takes 3-4 days, once you are registered you will need to contact Ms. Poillion. Students taking classes on the Navy Base must provide proof of insurance, a valid driver's license and proof of registration.
