Conference Tracks

Track 1: Assessment Means and Methods for Faculty. Topics which address a how-to approach for the assessment process. Presentations could include information on proven assessment techniques, products, software and other means of documenting assessment.

Track 2: Academic Support Services . Topics which address combining operational planning and student outcome to document success within the academic support services arena. (learning resources, adult education, continuing education and business and industry, academic resource centers/tutoring services)

Track 3: General Education. Topics which address effective means of assessing general education. Presentations could consists of means of identifying and addressing institutional learning outcomes; the development of rubrics and how to use them effectively in the assessment of student learning outcomes; how to identify tools to measure general education learning outcomes, e.g. national exams, faculty designed, vendor survey/questionnaires;

Track 4: Student Affairs and other auxiliary services including Administration. Topics which address student affairs service units, administrative departments and other service areas of the College such as marketing and public relations. Presentations could include topics identifying means of incorporating learning outcomes with operational plans and/or how to best assess services; also topics on connecting and assessing strategic planning and budgeting.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Mr. Dennis Bega, Senior Education Advisor, U.S. Dept. of Education Dept. of Education Update and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

This session will present information regarding the ARRA and how community and technical colleges can support the national initiatives. Also, Mr. Bega will provide updates on the Presidential educational agenda and the role that community colleges can play in the efforts.

You will want to be present for a special panel discussion covering the Commission on Colleges' initiative to develop a comprehensive training program for evaluators. This special session will be moderated by Dr. Demetria Gibbs, Coordinator of Evaluator Registry and Research, Commission on Colleges with the assistance of panelists such as Dr. David Carter, Vice President, Commission on Colleges, Norm Cherry, Compliance and Assessment Advisor, Technical College System of Georgia, Dr. Myra Barnett, Vice Provost, Spellman College, and Dr. Joseph Hoey, Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, Savannah College of Art and Design.
