Welcome to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College! We are delighted that you have chosen MGCCC for your education and realize you may need financial assistance in achieving your educational goals. More than 67% of our students receive some type of financial assistance and our goal is to make your MGCCC experience affordable and accessible through financial aid programs.
Financial Aid Programs
MGCCC administers federal, state, institutional and outside financial aid in the form of grants, scholarships, work programs, and loans. Some aid programs require that you demonstrate financial need. The basic types of financial aid are:
- Grants and Scholarships do not have to be repaid (unless you withdraw from school and owe a refund)
- Work Study allows you to earn money for your education
- Loans allow you to borrow money for your education and must be repaid with interest
Federal Student Aid Programs include Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Stafford Loans, PLUS Loans, and Work-Study. The FAFSA, or (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the primary application for this aid. For further details, see The Guide to Federal Student Aid.
