The Jefferson Davis Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and the 2015 class of Leadership Gulf Coast are co-hosting the first-ever Gulf Coast Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, March 7 from noon to 3 p.m. The cook-off will take place at the Hospitality Resort Management Center, located at 420 Debuys Road in Biloxi.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Back Bay Mission and the Jefferson Davis Campus Scholarship Fund. Teams can sign up now to have a chili booth, and there are still spots available for arts and crafts vendors.

The Gulf Coast Chili Cook-Off will be a family-friendly event with live music by Rhythm & Rain, all-you-can-eat chili, arts and crafts vendors, and a cornhole competition. Passes are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

“We are honored and excited to host this event on MGCCC’s Jefferson Davis Campus.  The only question is, ‘Who will win the distinction of having the best chili on the Coast?’” said Dr. Jonathan Woodward, Jefferson Davis Campus vice president and a member of the 2015 Leadership Gulf Coast class. “The Gulf Coast Chili Cook-Off reflects the innovative spirit of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Leadership Gulf Coast. The event also represents a strong partnership between the college and the community.”
