The Jefferson Davis Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College opened the Student Art Exhibit and Competition on April 16 with a reception recognizing the competition winners. The exhibit, which can be viewed in the campus Fine Art Gallery, will continue through May 1.

More than 20 Jefferson Davis Campus art students participated in the competition.  First, second and honorable mention winners were chosen in drawing, painting/design and ceramics.

Winners in drawing are Hannah Livingston, “Mama Don’t Dance and Your Daddy Don’t Rock-n-Roll,” first place; Zoey-Marie Ango, “Time Flies,” second place; and Brittani Barrientos, “Ganesh,” honorable mention.  In design/painting, winners are Hannah Livingtson, “Shadows Cast,” first place; Kimona Wallace, “Retro Nick,” second place; and Jordan Pino, “Paperclips on Parade,” honorable mention.  Winners in ceramics are Emily O’Connell, “Chicken Feet,” first place; Gideon Gaffney, “Dragon’s Lair,” second place; and Jonathan Barrientos, “Frosted Impression,” honorable mention.
