Collections

The Perkinston Campus library provides access to a reference and general collection of over 32,000 books. In addition, the library has an automated Sirsi system that provides immediate linking to the holdings of all three Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Campuses and a periodical collection of approximately 234 titles. With electronic access to Magnolia, a state funded database, locally purchased databases, and the Internet, the library provides access to information for research .

General Collections

Any current MGCCC student or employee may check out books at the Perkinston Campus Library. Also, anyone who is a member of the Institute of Lifelong Learning may check out library books at any of the three campus libraries. Books are checked out for a three week period, and may be renewed if not on hold. If books are not returned by semester end, borrowers will be blocked from further library use pending return of materials or payment of replacement costs.

Reference Books and Reserves

Reference books and reserves do not circulate outside the library. The reserve collection is located behind the circulation desk. However, compact discs which are companions to books are checked out. These CD's are kept in the librarians' office separate from the book and must be requested.
