Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is enrolling students now for classes starting throughout the semester. There are currently more than 300 classes available, ranging from mathematics to science and English to psychology. There are also many career and technical classes available.

Dr. Jason Pugh, vice president of Teaching & Learning/Student Services/Community Campus, said, “We encourage people to enroll in these classes if they interested in furthering their education, training for a new career or simply wanting to take a few classes. No matter how busy their lives, MGCCC has classes and programs that fit their needs.”

Formats range from traditional daytime classes to evening, hybrid (part in-class, part online) and weekend courses. Plus, there are currently 21 online classes available in art, business, biology, English, history, gaming technology, math and marketing.

Jennifer Leimer, director of Distance Learning at MGCCC, added that the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees could be completed entirely online.  “Because we offer so many courses online (approximately 350 per semester) and thanks to our partnership with the Mississippi Virtual Community College consortium, which increases our offerings to nearly 3,000 courses, we are able to offer a variety of AA and AS degrees online.  This includes the Bachelor of Science preparatory curriculum, Bachelor of Science in business curriculum, general studies, and business education.” She also said that the several career and technical programs are offered completely online, including Accounting Technology, Business Management Technology, Office Systems Technology and Web Development Technology.

“We also offer many other degree programs that can be completed online, with the exception of just a few classes,” Leimer added.
