Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Institutional Advancement department received gold and silver awards at the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Mississippi Gulf Coast 2016 Addy Awards held February 27 at the Island View Casino Resort in Gulfport. Advertising professionals and students from across the Mississippi Gulf Coast gathered to celebrate the talent and creativity found in South Mississippi during the Star-Wars-themed ceremony named Addy Wars: The Addy Awakens.

MGCCC’s 2015 Scholarship Gala campaign that included the invitation, program, newspaper and billboard ads, and other materials, received a gold award in the Integrated Media Public Service Award category. Philip Dixon was the designer and photographer for the campaign.

The Life of a College Student video campaign received a silver award in the Single Medium Public Service Award category. Michael Sewell, Kathy McAdams, Rich Kopp and Philip Dixon were contributors on the project.

“As this is our first year to be a part of the AAF Mississippi Gulf Coast, we are thrilled to have walked away with both a gold and silver, especially considering the competition is fierce on the Gulf Coast,” said Caroline Ramagos, vice president of Institutional Advancement. “The Institutional Advancement team works very hard and we are fortunate to have a lot of talent at MGCCC.”

The AAF is a group of advertising professionals networked together by a common interest including media, advertising, communications, sales, service, the arts and non-profit organizations.
