MMI Dining Systems at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston Campus has received the 2015 Ron Cockayne, Sr. MMI Gold Award. The award is given annually to one of MMI’s dining partners based on a variety of criteria.

“We are excited about winning this award and are aiming to do even better throughout this next year,” said Jeffrey Bates, Foodservice director at the Perkinston Campus. “It is always a very tough competition because there are so many outstanding locations within the MMI organization.”

Criteria for winning the annual award includes the following:Food quality and presentation

  • Consistently good and innovative service and food
  • Service staff interactive with customers, well-groomed and uniformed
  • High standards of housekeeping
  • Workplace safety is trained and re-trained
  • New food products are introduced regularly
  • Entertainment events are held regularly
  • Social media is used to promote food service
  • The relentless pursuit of excellence in all areas
  • Operation within budget restraints
  • Provides value to our clients on a daily basis
