Jefferson Davis Campus student wins first place at national Skills USA competition

Jacob Hampton, of Gulfport, won first place in Computer Maintenance Technology at the Skills USA Clubs of America national conference in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 25-28. Hampton, from Gulfport, is a sophomore with a double major in Computer Networking and Network Security at the Jefferson Davis Campus.

Mirya Bulot, of Long Beach, won sixth place in Preschool Teaching Assistant. Bulot is also from the Jefferson Davis Campus and will be a sophomore this fall in the Early Childhood Education Technology program.

Lisa Lillis, of Lucedale, and Desirae Smith, of Leakesville, both won third place in Occupational Health and Safety Single. They are both students at the George County Center.

Lindsey Parker, of Ocean Springs, and Wendy Rhymes, of Lucedale, won fifth place in Promotional Bulletin Board. Both Parker and Rhymes are students at the George County Center. Parker graduated in May from the Cosmetology program. Rymes, also a Cosmetology student, will graduate in August.

Carrie Younge and Victoria Guy won eighth place in Occupational Health and Safety Single in the secondary division. Megan Hickman and Gabby Turner won tenth place in the Occupational Health and Safety Single in the secondary division. All four high school students are from Lucedale and attend the George County Center for vocational classes.
