Welcome Home Celebration for Olympic Gold Medalist Brittany Reese

WHAT: The City of Gulfport and Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport are planning a welcome home celebration for Olympic Gold Medalist Brittney Reese this Saturday, August 11th at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. Brittney’s flight is scheduled to arrive by 6:30 p.m. We ask all public and media to arrive by 6:00 p.m. and the public to carpool if at all possible. Complimentary parking vouchers will be provided.

The Gulfport High Admiral marching band will perform. City of Gulfport Mayor Schloegel and others will give brief remarks to welcome her home. Gulf Coast residents are encouraged to attend, carrying American flags and signs of congratulations.

Brittney attended Gulfport High School, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Ole Miss. Brittney is the first student of the Track and Field family at Ole Miss to win an Olympic Gold Medal.
