Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perk Players proudly present “Wait Until Dark ” by Fredrick Knott, April 20-22, in the Malone Hall Auditorium. Curtain is at 6:30 each evening.

About “Until After Dark”

In a sinister game of cat-and-mouse, the blind Susy must pit her wits against a ruthless con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, who are searching for a mysterious doll with several grams of cocaine sewn into its lining. Roat has traced the location of the doll to Susy’s apartment in Greenwich Village. Apparently, her husband Sam has been persuaded by a strange woman to transport the doll across the Canadian border, not knowing about the drugs inside.

When the strange woman is murdered, Roat and the ex-convicts convince Susy that the police have implicated Sam in the murder, and the doll, which she believes is the key to his innocence, is evidence. She refuses to reveal its location, and with the help of a young neighbor, figures out she is the victim of a bizarre charade. But when Roat kills his associates, Susy realizes she is next on his list.

Realizing the only way to win the battle is playing by her rules, she waits until darkness falls to turn off all the lights, leaving both of them to maneuver in the dark until the game ends.
