The Perkinston Campus Visual Arts Center Gallery presents “Oh, The Places We Will Go,” an art exhibit featuring works by students Karah Younger, Kenley Havard, Katie Robinson and Maryssa Everett, through May 2. A gallery opening was held on April 7.

More than 55 student works are included in the exhibit including paintings, drawings, sculpture and ceramics. Featuring the works of four sophomore students the exhibit is a series of works that represent places around the world.

“The students started with their hometown pieces, and then decided on places within each continent that not only intrigued them, but also represented them in some way,” art instructor Daniel Calcote. “The challenges allowed them to push themselves out of their comfort zones. Unique styles emerged. These styles are showcased through their different choices of places, techniques, and media.”

The exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The gallery is at 51 Main Street Perkinston, MS 39573  For more information, contact Daniel Calcote at daniel.calcote@mgccc.edu or (601) 928-6342.
