Former Southern Miss superstar Reggie Collier kept repeating six words as he addressed the crowd gathered for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s fall sports banquet held at the college’s Perkinston Campus.
Those words are hard work, perseverance, determination, dedication, and commitment.
“To me, that’s a blueprint for success,” Collier said.

When Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College guard Justin Ray gets hot, opposing teams know it’s going to be a long night.
Against Mississippi Delta Nov. 8, Ray, a sophomore from Gulfport, got hot right off the bat and kept the heat on the Trojans with a 38-point outburst in an 84-72 win Thursday Night at the Weathers/Wentzell Center.
“We go as Justin ray goes,” said Gulf Coast head coach Wendell Weathers. “That doesn’t mean he has to score a lot of points. He needs to run our offense and be a leader. If he scores so much the better and he scored a bunch against Delta.”
