Perkette auditions to be held in March

  • Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston Campus will hold auditions for the 2010 Perkette Dance Team March 5-7. Check-in will begin at 5 p.m. on March 5, and the workshops will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. on March 5 and 9 a.m.–6 p.m. on March 6. Audition check-in will be on March 7 at 12:30 p.m. Attendance at the workshops March 5-6 is required to audition.

  • Perkettes Get New Coordinator

    Jennifer Centola will step in as the new dance coordinator for the Perkettes Dance Team, part of the Band of Gold. The dancers will also have new uniforms and a new routine for their football halftime show, parades and more.

    Since 1952, the Perkettes have danced their way through athletic events at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Fifty-Six years later, the college’s elite female dance group is still going strong, and a must-see fixture at Gulf Coast football games along with the Band of Gold. Full Story
