MGCCC soccer teams advance to MACJC State Finals

As expected, it’s an all Gulf Coast-Hinds final at the MACJC State Soccer tournament this weekend at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston Campus.

The Hinds men defeated Jones 3-2 in overtime/penalty kicks while the Bulldogs took care of Northwest 4-1 to set up tomorrow’s final at 3 p.m. Gulf Coast is seeking its first state title since 2002.
Back on Aug. 29, Hinds defeated Gulf Coast 6-1 in Raymond.
Ladie Yusef paced Gulf Coast with three goals, while Angel Plascencia added another.
The Lady Bulldogs will also face off against Hinds at 1 p.m. Sunday. Gulf Coast defeated Itawamba 3-1 behind first-half goals from Tina Anthony, Kelli Ranson, and Hannah Hess.
The Lady Eagles also defeated Gulf Coast 3-2 Aug. 29. Gulf Coast is after its first ever state title in women’s soccer.
