MGCCC Lady Bulldogs fall in Region 23 thriller

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Lady Bulldogs saw their 2008 season come to end as Meridian outlasted Gulf Coast 2-1 in overtime in the Region 23 title game.

Lady Bulldog sophomore Tina Anthony scored as time was winding down in regulation to tie the game at 1-1. However, the Lady Eagles added another goal in the extra period to win and keep their season going. Gulf Coast ends to 2008 campaign with a 14-2-1 record and the first ever MACJC State title for the women’s soccer team.

“It’s been a fantastic season,” said Gulf Coast soccer coach Bary Thrash. “I couldn’t be prouder of this group of exceptional young ladies.”
