Advanced Technology Education Support Project

Mission

The Advanced Technology Education Support Project (ATESP) builds on the success of the Advanced Information Technology Education Project (AITEP) initiative designed to increase the supply and diversity of the IT workforce. The mission of ATESP is to increase student access to IT programs and student retention to program completion and certification.

Goals and Objectives

The goal of ATESP is to increase the number and quality of students successfully completing IT programs with activities targeted to females and other underrepresented groups.

  • Objective 1: Increase retention of IT majors resulting in a 60% program completion rate.
  • Objective 2: Increase access to high-demand IT programs. IT programs included are Database Administration Technology, Web Development Technology, Network Security Technology, Computer Servicing Technology, Computer Programming Technology, Computer Networking Technology, and Telecommunications Technology.
  • Objective 3: Increase number of students achieving industry recognized certifications as validation of skill level.
