Check it OUT!!! Up to $1100 per semester
The National Science Foundation (NSF) will award up to $1100 per semester for four consecutive semesters to MGCCC students who have financial need and who major in math, engineering, computer science or computer technology.
Requirements:
- A U.S. citizen, national, refugee alien or permanent resident alien
- Major in math, engineering, computer science or computer technology (for all eligible majors see major college codes list in this pamphlet)
- Have financial need
- Exhibit academic potential
- ACT (or equivalent standardized test) score of 18 overall with 21 on mathematics
- For high-school graduates, recommendation by mathematics instructor
- For GED recipient, a score of 90 percent or above on the mathematics section
- Developmental students, who have completed two semesters at MGCCC, must have a GPA of 4.0 in developmental math courses and the recommendation of a math instructor
- Exhibit leadership qualities and community service, with experience and active participation in professional organizations, clubs or community activities

How do I stay in the program to receive full scholarship funds each semester?
- Maintain full-time status at MGCCC
- Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Demonstrate progress toward meeting degree requirements
- Participate in TRI-MEC Scholars Program activities
- Be recommended for continuation by the Campus Support Team
What activities will I need to attend?
TRI-MEC will have business and industry partnerships that will provide TRI-MEC students with interaction, opportunities for research, applied teaching and business/industry visits, classroom presenters, and mentors.
How do I apply?
- Step 1: Go to the Financial Aid office at the MGCCC campus nearest you and fill out the FAFSA application. Tell the administrator you're interested in the TRI-MEC Scholarship.
- Step 2: Complete the TRI-MEC Scholarship Application and return it to your faculty advisor.

- Fall Semester - August 15th
- Spring Semester - December 1st
