Computer Programming Technology, Jefferson Davis Campus
The Computer Programming Technology curricula are designed as a two-year program of study to prepare the student for entry-level employment in Computer Programming. This option offers training in business application development on microcomputers and mid-range computers. Students get a well-rounded education in various languages such as Visual Basic .Net, C++, Java, JavaScript, and Perl. Students also get experience in AS/400 Control Language and SQL. Students will earn an associate of applied science degree is earned upon successful completion of the computer programming curriculum.

Computer Servicing Technology, Perkinston Campus
This instructional program prepares individuals to install, operate, maintain, service, and diagnose operational problems in computer systems arising from mechanical or electrical malfunctions in computer units or systems. Courses in the Computer Servicing Technology program describe the electrical circuits and mechanical devices used in computer construction and their combination into a total computer system.

Database Administration Technology, Jackson County Campus
Companies, small and large, use databases to store important information about its employees, customers, and products. Database Administration is one of the fastest growing sectors in the information technology field. A Database Administrator (DBA) is employed to manage a company's relational database management system. The DBA would be in charge of database security and access by creating users and granting specific privileges to those users, as designated by company policy.
The Database Administration Technology curriculum is designed to prepare the student for entry-level employment in the database administration field. Opportunities for students with experience in Oracle databases include state and federal government agencies, medium-to-large corporations, and Internet-based companies. An Oracle DBA certification is a key credential demonstrating proficiency in the high demand area of Oracle database administration.
Upon completion of the Database Administration Technology program, students are prepared to setup, administer, and maintain a large-scale Oracle relational database system. Oracle databases are among the most sophisticated databases available. Graduates of the Database Technology program will have completed all recommended courses to prepare for the Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) exams in Database Administration.
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is a member of the Oracle Academic Initiative (OAI), which provides software, curriculum, training, and certification resources to the higher education industry. As part of the OAI membership, students in MGCCC's Database Administration Technology program are entitled to 40% discount vouchers on Oracle certification exams, as well as a 50% discount on testing software.

Network Security Technology, Jefferson Davis Campus
The Network Security Technology curriculum is designed to provide graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge for jobs that involve securing information in a business environment. Students will be prepared by learning a variety of theoretical approaches to Network Security as well as practical techniques and applications of network security. This program will provide students the opportunity to develop technical expertise as well as professional ethics that are vital in this area of responsibility. Students will be prepared to seek a vendor-neutral certification in the field of Network Security from reputable, industry-recognized sources. An Associate of Applied Science degree is earned upon successful completion of the network security technology curriculum.

This program is designed to prepare students for a wide range of technical positions within the Telecommunications industry. Specific preparation is in modes, techniques, and mediums of voice, and data transmissions and reception. Emphasis is on the telephone instrument, key systems, analog and digital voice communications, data communications, fiber optics applications, satellite and microwave communications and integrated services digital network (ISDN). Graduates will be qualified to help select, install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair telecommunications systems.

Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) certifications are key credentials demonstrating student proficiency in Web development and administration. The Web Development Technology program is designed to coincide with CIW training, thus preparing students for ProSoft CIW exams in several different career tracks.
