Basic Computer Systems

Course Description

A survey of computer components.  Topics include hardware compatibility, system architecture, memory, video displays, disk drives, modems, and printers.

Objectives

1. Demonstrate and practice general safety procedures in the school and work site environment. 

2. Discuss basic elements of computer maintenance.   

3. Perform system disassembly/inspection.            

4. Discuss and perform preventive maintenance.  

5. Diagnose problems with computer components.                

6.  Upgrade computer components.
