Communications Hardware

Course Description

This course is an introduction to communications hardware and its uses in wide area networks.  Topics include modems, CSU/DSU, multiplexers, wireless transceivers, and satellites.

Objectives 

1. Demonstrate safety policies and procedures.

2. Demonstrate PC hardware, OS configuration, and repair.

3. Discuss RS232, V.35Discuss fundamental principles of modems

4. Examine CSU/DSU and channel banks

5. Explain multiplexers.

6. Discuss routers, bridges, switches, and gateways.

7. Discuss wireless transceivers

8. Discuss satellites
