  1. Log into your course in Blackboard.
  2. Click on the “Control Panel” button.
  3. Click on the “Add Users” link under “User Management”.
  4. Click on the “Create User”.
  5. Under section 1, Personal Information, complete the following areas:
    1. First Name
    2. Last Name
    3. Email – Enter the student’s email address. If you are not going to use the email function within Blackboard you can enter a fictitious email address. i.e., “@mgccc.edu”.
    4. Student ID – Enter the student’s social security number
  6. Under section 2, Account Information, complete the following areas:
    1. Username – Enter the username using the following format - The first letter of their first name, followed by the last name, followed by the last four of their SSAN. (EX: msmith6789)
    2. Password – Use the same format as was used for the Username.
    3. Verify Password – Enter the same as step 6.b.

NOTE: These entries are case sensitive.

  1. Under section 4, Role and Availability, ensure the radio button for “Student” is selected and that the “Yes” option is selected for “Available (this course only)”.
  2. Click the “Submit” button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Click the “OK” button on the Add Users screen.
