The archive course tool in Blackboard 6 saves all course content and all user information, including student testing data, into a zipped file that can later be uploaded into a new course shell.

  1. Log into your course in Blackboard.
  2. Click the “Control Panel” button.
  3. Click the “Archive Course” link.
  4. Click the “Submit” button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  5. Click the “Click here to download the exported course site” link to download the zipped file of your archived data.
  6. Click the “Save” button.
  7. Specify the location where you want the saved data to reside in the “Save As” dialog box.

NOTE: A good place to save the file might be in your “My Documents” folder on your hard drive.

  1. Click the “Save” button.

NOTE: The download might take a couple of minutes depending on the size of your course. The average file size is around 2 MB to 4 MB.
