Using the Course Recycler in Blackboard 6

This utility allows you to selectively remove (recycle) areas of your course site.

WARNING: Please note that this process is irreversible. The only way to recover removed data is from an archive of the course.

Content areas that can be removed are: Course Information, Course Documents, Assignments, Books, Faculty Information, and External Links.

Other areas that can be removed are: Announcements, Users, Groups, Discussion Board, Assessment, Gradebook, Statistics, and Drop Box sections.

WARNING: Recycling the instructor’s drop box also recycles the student’s drop boxes.

  1. Log into your course in Blackboard.
  2. Click the “Control Panel” button.
  3. Click the “Recycle Course” link.
  4. Click to place a checkmark in the appropriate box(es) for the areas you wish to remove.

NOTE: This process is irreversible.

  1. Type “Remove” in the box located on the lower right corner of the screen. Please note that this box is case sensitive.
  2. Click the “Submit” button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
