and Interests
– taught at the college level since 1974. Advisor for all health-related
sciences. Research interests include topics in biological oceanography,
marine/terrestrial ecology, and the natural sciences. Worked as field
consultant for Ciba-Geigy in developing a new cotton pesticide, underwater
photographer, authored papers in The Journal of
College Science
Teaching,
The Journal of the American Biology Teacher
and The Western Journal of Black Studies,
wrote two novels of historical fiction,
Vendetta, and
Shadows of Lightning.

and Interests - Research interest is centered
around the Honors Biology Internship Program with local scientists and
education. Awards include Mississippi Academy of Science Award for
Outstanding Contribution to the Teaching of Community College Level; NISOD,
Outstanding Instructor- University of Texas-Austin; MGCCC Instructor of the
Year; and the Lamplighter Award for Outstanding Instructor in Community
College teaching.

textbook material for William C. Brown Publisher. Popular science
publications include articles in national/international magazines such as
Ranger Rick, Instructor Magazine, Oceans Magazine,
Animal Kingdom, East-West Journal, Woman Engineer, and
Social Issues and Healthcare Review.

Interests - Retired from the United States Air Force in 1988 with
the rank of major. Practiced primary care clinical medicine while on active
duty as a physician assistant. Related Air Force duties have included:
Hospital Quality Assurance Coordinator; Base Director of Smoking Cessation;
Administrator of Primary Care; and Medical Readiness Troop Commander.
Awarded military honors to include three Meritorious Service Medals, two

Sugar & Slavery, Nevis, WI. Other awards include: Who’s Who Among
