COURSE DESCRIPTION

A combined lecture and laboratory course that includes detailed studies of the anatomy and physiology of human special senses and the endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, and urinary systems, as well as reproduction and development. Labs associated with this course contain experiments and exercises that reinforce the principles introduced in lecture classes.

1.      INTRODUCTION

2.      DISSECTION OF THE CAT - ENDOCRINE SYSTEM, DIGESTIVE SYSTEM, RESPIRATORY SYSTEM, URINARY SYSTEM AND REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM.

3.     OBSERVATION OF HUMAN TORSO MODELS - ENDOCRINE SYSTEM, DIGESTIVE SYSTEM, RESPIRATORY SYSTEM, URINARY SYSTEM AND REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM.

4.     MICROSCOPIC HISTOLOGY OF SELECTED TISSUES FROM THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM, DIGESTIVE SYSTEM, RESPIRATORY SYSTEM, URINARY SYSTEM AND REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM.

5.      MICROSCOPIC OBSERVATION OF THE BLOOD CELLS.

6.       BLOOD TYPING AND HEMATOCRIT.

7.      MICROSCOPIC OBSERVATIONS OF HISTOLOGY OF BLOOD VESSELS.

8.      DISSECTION OF THE HEART.

9.   IDENTIFICATION OF BLOOD VESSELS OF THE CAT.

10.   IDENTIFICATION OF BLOOD VESSELS OF HUMAN TORSO.

11.  DISSECTION OF THE KIDNEY.

12.  DISSECTION OF THE SHEEP EYE
