COURSE DESCRIPTION:

A combined lecture and laboratory course that covers spectroscopy, aromatic compounds, carbonyl compounds and other complex compounds, with emphasis on reactions, reaction mechanisms, and nomenclature. Labs associated with this course acquaint students with important manipulations and procedures, as well as the preparation and study of aromatic and complex organic compounds.
