Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - Maintained by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Information about diseases and conditions are arranged under Health Topics A-Z. Offers two CDC journals online: Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) and Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Healthfinder - Directs the searcher to selected online publications, clearinghouses, databases, web sites, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations that provide reliable health information. Also provides access to medical dictionaries and encyclopedia. Developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

HIV InSite - A gateway to in-depth information about HIV/AIDS. The HIV InSite Knowledge Base provides access to a comprehensive, on-line textbook of HIV disease from the University Of California San Francisco and the San Francisco General Hospital.

Innerbody - Human Anatomy - An interactive site for the study of human anatomy.

Mayo Clinic - Offers an extensive selection of easy-to-understand information on health and medical topics. Updated every workday.

Medem - A set of resources provided by some of the nation's leading medical societies (including the American Medical Association).

MEDLINEplus - Designed by the National Library of Medicine. Directs searchers to accurate, extensive, and current medical information.

Medweb - A catalog of health/biomedical related web sites maintained by the Emory University Health Sciences Center Library.

The Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy, 17th ed. - An online edition of "The Merck Manual", a standard quick-reference text found in medical libraries.

NOAH: New York Online Access Health - A collection of state, local and federal health information resources. Includes definitions, care and treatment, and lists of information resources.

National Institute of  Health -   NIH is the primary Federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research.

Oncolink: A University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center Resource - Provides information on the various forms of cancer. Offers a variety of search menus including disease, medical specialty, causes, screening and prevention, and clinical trials.

RxList - The Internet Drug Index - A free drug index that can be searched by brand name, generic name, and category.
