Reporting Test Results
Medical Laboratory Technology, a degree program at the Jackson County Campus, prepares students for employment in hospital laboratories, clinics, doctors' offices and industrial laboratories.  Students are trained to work in five major areas of the laboratory: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis/immunology, and microbiology.  MLTs perform tests to determine the absence, presence, extent and causes of diseases.  These tests range from the most routine urinalysis to the most complex chemistry profile.  There is a critical shortage of laboratory personnel.  This makes excellent employment opportunities for the MLT.
