Mississippi Virtual Community College
Courses are required to take at least one proctored exam
per semester. The guidelines for these students are as follows:
-
Instructors will give their
students test dates and instructions regarding which assessments are to be
taken in a proctored environment. Students should plan for testing as early
as possible, as appointments will fill up at peak times.
-
Students who wish to take
their proctored tests at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College must make
their appointments with our online scheduling software at least two working
days before the test date.

-
Students will

CLEP
CLEP is a
national program of credit by examination that allows a person to obtain
recognition for college-level achievement. In the of Fall of 2000 MGCCC
was approved as a limited CLEP
testing site. As such, MGCCC administers CLEP exams to students who are
enrolled at MGCCC.
CLEP offers two types of tests: general examinations and subject
examinations. General exams measure familiarity with material covered in
courses taken during the first two years of college to meet general education
requirements. They include English composition, humanities, college
mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, and history. Subject exams
measure knowledge usually acquired in specific college courses and are used to
grant credit for these courses. The CLEP exams for which MGCCC accepts credit
are listed in the catalog along with the required testing scores.
Please
contact
one of the campus Assessment Centers
to schedule a CLEP examination.
