- World Civilizations I (HIS 1163): This course surveys the development of agriculture and urban settlements, the civilizations of the ancient world, the emergence of the great religions, the "middle ages" of various cultures, Africa and the Americas before the European onslaught, renaissances around the globe, and the relative advances of science, technology and exploration.
- World Civilization II (HIS 1173): This course surveys globally: industrial and scientific revolutions, political revolutions, the development of capitalism, socialism and imperialism, world wars and nationalism and fascism and communism.
- United States I (HIS 2213): This course surveys American history from the first Native American occupation until Reconstruction ends in 1877.
- United States II (HIS 2223): This course surveys American history from Reconstruction to the present.
