Eight MGCCC students win at state SkillsUSA competitions

Eight students from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College won at the State SkillsUSA competitions held in Jackson April 10-11.  SkillsUSA Clubs of America holds annual state competitions for career and technical students.  Winners compete at national competitions held in Louisville, Kentucky, during June each year.

Winners from the George County Center are Lucedale residents Kirsten Whitley and Danielle Tatum, first place, Esthetics Team, and Raven Pipkens, also of Lucedale, third place, Cosmetology.

From the Jackson County Campus, the winner is Jennifer Britt of Gulfport, first place, Industrial Motor Control.

Winners from the Jefferson Davis Campus are Chandler Bang of Pass Christian, first place, Electrical Construction Wiring; Timothy Day of Gulfport, first place, Collision Repair; and Donnie Nguyen of Biloxi, third place, Automotive Refinishing Technology.

From the Perkinston Campus, the winner is Mitchell Moran of Saucier, first place, IT Services.
