Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Perkinston Campus Fine Arts Department presents its spring musical “A Little Princess” by Marc Folan on March 1-4 in Malone Hall Auditorium. Curtains open at 7 p.m. on March 1-3 and at 2 p.m. on March 4.

About the Play

Based on the children’s novel by Frances Hodges Burnett, it is a rags-to-riches story that takes place in Victorian England. The tale is about a young girl, Sara Crewe, who on her journey discovers what is important in life, who her true friends are, and the strength she has always carried within her.

Directed by Daisha Walker, choreography by Britney Patton and musical directed by Brandon Ring, it stars members of the Stone County community and MGCCC college students. Hadley Batson of Wiggins will play Sara Crewe in this moving musical suited to families and all ages.

This is the first time this musical has been performed in the South and it is debuting a new song by the composer Marc Folan of London as he prepares the musical for a larger launching.

Tickets are $5 for children and students, $10 for community members. For information and reservations, call 601-928-6289.
